Hanging Black Briefcase with Missing Strap was exhibited in Levine's solo shows at the Asher/Faure Gallery in Los Angeles and at the Fuller Goldeen Gallery, San Francisco both in 1983. The latter consigned it to O.K. Harris Works of Art in New York from where it was sold in 1986 to the Morgan Gallery in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. We do not know the current disposition. The catalog number is 83-01A.
